Halle Berry debuted a blonde pixie with an undercut at the Critics Choice Awards

According to Halle Berry, awards show season means new hairstyles. At the 2021 People’s Choice Awards back in December, the actor paid homage to the early aughts with some side-swept bangs and a tousled updo. Now, almost three months later, Berry is back with a completely different hairstyle for the 2022 Critics Choice Awards, which took place on Sunday 13 March.

The actor’s new hair is styled into a pixie/undercut hybrid. It’s highlighted blonde at the very top layers but fades into dark brown at the root. Halle’s go-to hairstylist, Sara Seward, is behind this latest haircut, which the actor shared on Instagram. The image she used shows her holding her Critics’ Choice “See Her” award, which honours women who promote gender equality and empowerment through their work.

“Our voice is the most powerful tool we have, and it’s imperative that we stand up and use it,” she shares in her Instagram post. “Here’s to every person who has felt diminished, misunderstood, marginalised, and discounted. Now is the time for all of us to stand up, stand united, and have our voices heard.”

Of course, Halle Berry’s been a pixie cut girl for a long time. The actor famously wore a different version of the close-cropped cut throughout the ’90s, but has been playing more with length over the past few decades. In 2016, after a long hiatus, she brought back the crop, this time with longer face-framing layers.
