This concealer trick will change the way you do your makeup

You know the drill by now, every other day someone on TikTok claims to have discovered a clever hack that will make your beauty routine easier and your skin, eyes or any other facial feature pop. And this time around? A concealer has that looks like an expensive mess to begin with but actually delivers pretty impressive results.

The app has been a bit concealer mad recently, thanks to that viral concealer hack that promises (and delivers) the most defined cheekbones you’ve ever seen in your life (minus Timothée Chalame, because jheeeez). But this one is all about creating the ideal complexion and channeling the likes of Kim K’s famous light/shadow look.

So, what’s the deal here? Well, at first glance it looks like you just smother your face in tonnes of concealer and then blend, but actually there is a *little* more finesse to it. The trend seems to have been started by user @cashyilatannaya, who begins the video with a light concealer covering the entire area from her top lip up to her lower eyelashes, avoiding the nose but straying out to cover a large chunk of her cheeks.

A quick transition though and boom… she’s blended in the concealer to reveal an airbrushed complexion that wouldn’t look out of place on the new The Kardashians trailer. She says in the comments section that she applies the concealer after her foundation and then blends in for the perfect ‘baked’ look.

And her followers were just as shook at the transformation as we were. “I will be trying this when i decide to get cute,” writes one, while another adds: “I can not get over how gorgeous I keep coming back to this 😭😭😭.”

Unsurprisingly, it hasn’t taken long for other TikTok makeup aficionados to take on the challenge too, and they’ve also debuted pretty impressive results.

Sure, it looks extra, and yes, you will go through a tube of concealer faster than you can sing out  ‘SUAAAVEEE’ (if you don’t know it, just open your TikTok app), but we just can’t help but be impressed by the results — plus, you don’t need hours of spare time or a degree in makeup to try it out (unlike some of the other makeup trends we’ve spied on the platform recently).
