Bridgerton fashion has got us all hooked – here are 23 regency core pieces you can actually wear, inspired by season 2’s arrival

Bridgerton has not only got us glued to the TV screen as Netflix’s fifth biggest original shows, but it’s now also infiltrating our wardrobes. Bridgerton fashion – that’s puff sleeve tops and dresses, midi skirts and opera-style gloves – is top of everyone’s search history RN.

By now you’re probably more than familiar with the series, but if not think Jane Austen meets a less intense E. L. James. Set in 1813, Bridgerton is an ostentatious period piece full of fancy floral dresses, jacquard fabrics and regency headbands.

It has already been watched in over 60 million households (told you it was popular) and, now that it’s returning for season 2 today, is set to become the talk of the proverbial town once more. The thing we’re most excited about, though? The empire-line gowns, the pastel colours contrasted with the bold ones, the embellished shoes and the OTT jewellery – AKA regency core, as it has been coined.

Though you may not want to replicate Bridgerton fashion to a T, with all its formalities, there’s a lot you can take from each character’s bright and floral style choices. The show’s costume Designer Ellen Mirojnick isn’t an award winner for no reason.

Simone Ashley who plays Kate Sharma, the leading lady in season 2, takes note from Daphne Bridgerton, favouring lighter colours and more delicate patterns. Inspired? These embroidered trousers from Stradivarius’ Bridgerton collection hit her aesthetic on the head but lend a modern twist, whereas Sister Jane’s Dream Lenten Rose midi dress takes on a more accurate representation of the role – especially when worn with a pair of long satin gloves and some crystal-embellished flats.

More of a Featherington family kind of person? Bright tones and clashing patterns will be your bag. Try this ASOS EDITION smocked top paired with these Alessandra Rich clip-on earrings out for size. Fit for a queen.
