Jason Oppenheim has confirmed that *another* Selling Sunset spin-off is coming to Netflix. Here’s what we know so far…

If you, like us, have had a giant Selling Sunset-sized hole in your heart ever since season 5 landed on Netflix in April this year, then fear not – Selling The OC, the long-awaited, second spin-off show, is on its way.

From Wednesday 24 August, we’ll be able to binge-watch Selling The OC, a spin-off centred around a group of brand-new realtors selling property to the mega-rich of Southern California’s Orange County. They will of course be led by season veterans, Jason & Brett Oppenheim – twin brothers and co-founders of the Oppenheim Group.

All eight 30-minute episodes will be available to stream – so the choice is yours whether you want to draw them out over a few evenings, or book out four glorious hours to watch the season in its entirety. Anyway, here’s what you can expect…

Plot

The official show synopsis reads: “A fresh set of realtors square off, competing to establish themselves at The Oppenheim Group’s second office on the Orange County coast. Will the pressure prove too much for these agents to handle?”

In an interview with Tudum, Netflix’s official companion site, show creator Adam DiVello (the man who is behind both Selling Sunset and its first spin-off, Selling Tampa), gave a little more intel on what to expect.

“The cast is just wild, right from the jump; they don’t hold back. They don’t have any filters. They say what they’re thinking. And it’s a very drama-filled season,” he told the platform.

While the show will be full of drama, then, it will also seemingly be a feast for the eyes. Adam – who once worked on the MTV reality show Laguna Beach, also set in Orange County – will also be looking to highlight the scenic views of the location itself.

He said: “[Selling The OC] is such an escapist show, it’s just so beautiful. I hope people just fall in love with the town as much as I did when I first started working down there… They’re just going to love seeing the beaches, the bonfires and people surfing. I can’t wait for people around the world that didn’t get to catch Laguna Beach to see it. They’re going to get to see this town and be like, ‘It’s mind-boggling that people live down there.”

Trailer

Netflix released an official teaser trailer for Selling The OC on 6 May 2022.

And it did not disappoint… immediately, drama is in the air as gossip abounds that cast member and agent Alexandra Rose slept with a developer in order to win a listing.

“I can’t believe the audacity to spread rumours,” Alexandra Rose (confusingly, one of three cast members all called Alexandra) retorts – cue a lot of swearing, accusations and rivalry brewing. Looks like we’re in for a gripping watch!

Cast

We know that the cast of realtors will feature a more even gender mix, this time around. “Sunset is known for its cast of women (with the few men usually trying to avoid getting caught in the cross fire), but the dynamics in the OC series will prove a bit different,” reads the Netflix statement.
