75 See Through Dresses: Celebrities In Sheer Dresses

Once seen as the epitome of bad taste, sheer fabrics and risqué dresses have, in recent years, become a key component of some of the world’s chicest wardrobes. Yes, really.

When done right, ‘nearly-naked’ looks strike that hard-to-reach sweet spot between being sartorially sensual and super chic without even a hint of awkwardness or discomfort for either the wearer or the observer.

But how to jump on the sheer dress trend without missing the mark?

As is often the case, we can look towards Lizzo for inspiration. The singer attended Cardi-B‘s dancehall-themed birthday party wearing an iridescent, floor-length dress, paired with nipple pasties and a thong. Oh and it was entirely see-through – we love.

Many of our favourite A-listers also worked the sheer dress trend at the 2021 Met Gala in New York City. Form Kendall Jenner to Irina Shayk, sheer dresses were definitely en vogue on the iconic red carpet, with Kendall channeling Audrey Hepburn in a breathtaking crystal Givenchy gown while Irina wore a sheer Moschino dress, cementing a strong comeback for the trend. In fact, we’re so sold that we’re looking for any excuse to throw one on ourselves… not that we have any Met Gala level events in our social calendar. Sigh

For many of us, see-through dresses tend to be more tempting when they’re a little longer (unless you’re Cara Delevingne and/or you’re hoping to turn every head in the room, in which case anything goes).
