FKA twigs Discusses Alleged Shia LeBeouf Abuse in Interview With CBS’ Gayle King

FKA twigs sat down with Gayle King on CBS This Morning to discuss the alleged abuse she experienced during her relationship with Shia LeBeouf. In December, twigs filed a lawsuit against LeBeouf, alleging abuse and assault. Speaking with King, twigs discussed the beginning of her relationship with LeBeouf, claiming that he would jump the fence to her residence to leave her small gifts. She said she found the gestures “very romantic” at the time, but has come to see the actor “testing [her] boundaries,” and called his actions “inappropriate.”

FKA twigs later told King that LeBeouf became “physical” with her. She said that he “would push [her], and then he would say, ‘You fell.’” Additionally, twigs retold a story where LeBeouf was speeding and allegedly threatened to crash the car with them in it. According to twigs, he was “speeding down the motorway and saying that if [she] left him—or, if [she] said that [she] didn’t love him and if [she] was gonna leave him—that he would smash the car into the side of a wall.” She reflected, “I thought, wow, he needs so much control over me that he would rather kill us both.”

Later that night, LeBeouf choked twigs in public, the singer told Gayle King; twigs previously discussed the night in question with The New York Times and ELLE. FKA twigs also reiterated the allegation that LeBeouf made her kiss or touch him a certain number of times per day.

Shia LeBeouf, in emails to The New York Times, wrote that “many of these allegations are not true” but has not commented on specific allegations. “I’m ashamed of that history and am sorry to those I hurt,” he wrote. More recently, LeBeouf formally denied FKA twigs’ allegations in a court filing.
