The National and photographer Graham MacIndoe, who took the band’s first official publicity photo in 2001, have announced a new book. Light Years documents their 20-year relationship, featuring black-and-white photos from the studio and the road, along with quotes and essays from the band members. The book also comes with a vinyl LP, featuring material curated by MacIndoe and the National’s Scott Devendorf from the band’s 2018 performances at New York’s Forest Hills Stadium. Check out a photo of the set below.

Light Years is currently available to pre-order exclusively through the National’s Cherry Tree fanclub. It is limited to 3,200 copies, with a signed bookplate edition of 400. A portion of proceeds from the signed edition will benefit the National’s tour crew.

The National’s latest album, I Am Easy to Find, arrived in 2019. Read Pitchfork’s Song-by-Song interview with the band and collaborator Mike Mills.
