‘Dream Horse’ Trailer: Toni Collette Fosters “Dream Alliance” In Bleecker Street & Topic Studios’ Horse Racing Drama

Bleecker Street and Topic Studios have debuted the official trailer for their horse racing feature Dream Horse, starring Toni Collette and Damian Lewis.

Directed by Euros Lyn (BBC One’s Doctor Who, ITV’s Broadchurch), from a script by Neil McKay, the film tells the inspiring true story of Jan Vokes (Academy Award winner Colette), the small-town bartender who becomes the unlikely breeder of a thorougbred race horse, known as Dream Alliance. With very little money and no experience, she convinces her neighbors to chip in their meager earnings to help raise Dream, in hopes that one day, the horse will go hoof to hoof with racing elites. The community’s investment in Jan and her Dream pays off, as the horse swiftly rises through the ranks.

“We lost our jobs, our community, even our pride,” Colette’s Vokes says in the trailer, “and then Dream came along and reminded us what life is like when you have hope.”

Making its world premiere at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival, Dream Horse also stars Owen Teale, Joanna Page, Karl Johnson, Steffan Rhodri, Anthony O’Donnell, Nicholas Farrell and Sian Phillips, with Katherine Butler and Tracy O’Riordan serving as producers.

The family-friendly comedy hits theaters on May 21st, arriving on demand on June 11.
