Now spring has sprung, it’s time to press reset on your wardrobe. Flicking through the new-in section at Karen Millen, we’ve found the ultimate selection of the season’s sharpest tailoring, most luxurious leather and freshest colours in one place. Yep, since the high street hero found a home online, it’s become a serious destination for stealth chic.
According to Head of Design, Bonnie Godsil, “Since relaunching in 2019 we have had a clear strategy – bring the joy back to the product.” And we’re here for every. single. joyous. piece!
So, what’s on our wish-list for spring 2022? We’re obsessed with the leather extreme shoulder double breasted blazer dress – it’s seriously chic. As is the chocolate leather trench coat, which looks like the price tag should have another zero on it. The leather biker trousers are a fresh take on our continued obsession with black leather trousers, too. Leather is something Karen Millen is really good at – with several styles of leather dress coming in a rainbow of shades and an array of sizes that span Petite and Curve. We love to see it.
The silhouettes are more than a little Jacquemus (that lime green satin mini *drooling emoji*), the colour palette has echoes of Bottega Veneta’s signature green shade (we’re here for the twist knot jersey top) and the fabrics all feel and look waaaaay more expensive than the total of your basket would have you believe. Although, Karen Millen definitely isn’t a fast fashion fix. It’s where we head after payday. But as we’ve pledged to spend more on our wardrobe and make it last to do our bit for sustainability, this is the ideal time to invest in the classics our wardrobe has been crying out for. Bonnie told GLAMOUR, “We have a brilliant design team who understand the signature codes of quality, fit and hardware that define us as a brand.”
Karen Millen should also be your #1 destination for dresses. We’re imagining the white broderie dress on holiday… The vintage toile dress looks special enough for weddings or engagement parties (and we know you have plenty in your 2022 diary…) while the belted denim dress could work for the office as well as weekend-wear (it reminds us of Alexander McQueen’s spring denim pieces without being as blatant as a designer dupe…)
Finish off your lewk with some statement jewellery – we adore the colourful chain necklace and gemstone drop earrings – then wait for the compliments to roll in. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!
