Spring? Consider it sprung. Though the temperature may not match, we can’t complain about this sunny-with-cloudy-intervals weather we’re having. It’s got us searching for spring dresses (when we’re not soaking up that vitamin D on our lunch breaks, of course).
The staples we’ve all had on rotation for the past four months – AKA jeans, knitwear, boots and so on – will no longer suffice. It’s above 15 degrees and set to get even warmer which means a complete wardrobe update is on the cards, with midi skirts, sunglasses and, of course, floaty dresses v. much on the agenda.
Although the upcoming weekend is on track to feel more like summer (with a permanent scent of SPF in the air), the sunny days of spring usually come with a side of chilly breeze, so it’s wise to opt for long sleeves and hemlines when you’re browsing for a spring dress. You’ll be grateful for the added coverage when the wind picks up.
The Monikh Dale x Warehouse Curated collection is drool-worthy and spot-on for this time of year. Worth particular note? This oversized midi shirt dress – which doubles as a beach cover-up when worn open over a bikini on holiday – and this broderie frill and cutwork detail number.
Arket‘s new collection is alive with fresh prints created at Stockholm’s Rosendal’s Garden. To continue the theme of the outdoors throughout the season, the line-up sees pieces like this Slow Flowers printed cotton dress create a strong connection to nature and gardening. Spring encapsulated.
There are tonnes of styles suitable for those who love to layer, too; ones which will look just as chic atop a white T-shirt as they will with bare arms, like this ASOS DESIGN check sundress, and others that call for a leather jacket to be nonchalantly hung over the shoulders like RIXO’s Petal dress. Versatility is the name of the game, too, so look for pieces you know that you can wear to work with a pair of loafers and then again to brunch with trainers come the weekend.
