If you’re anything like us, you may well have taken one brief glimpse of the weather forecast for the next couple of weeks and decided that autumn, is, in fact, not for you. Neither is winter, for that matter. Does anyone know where the button to skip forward to spring is?

After spending two summers – one of which spoiled us UK residents with a whole four days of sunshine – in varying states of national lockdown, it’s no exaggeration to say that we’re all owed one hell of a good one next year. The good news? If the current fashion weeks – forecasting the trends for spring/summer 2022 – are anything to go by, it looks set to be a scorcher.

Sure, strictly sartorially speaking, autumn isn’t so bad. With our newfound freedom and increasing interest – albeit a tentative one – in socialising again, our post-lockdown wardrobes have been met with a whole host of AW21 trends that are proving a lot more tempting than our tracksuit-clad uniform of late.

From mega knits that double up as wraparound duvets on the coldest days to Meghan Markle‘s favourite ‘solo saturation’ and OUT out looks fit for all our pent-up partying antics come December, if there’s anything to make this season more appealing it’s undoubtedly the wardrobe updates that it encourages.

But there’s little that beats a summer wardrobe, and SS22’s looks a whole lot more light-hearted, nostalgic and celebratory than we’ve seen for quite some time.
