Love Island 2023: Meet Empowering Female Cast Of New Series

Love Island is nearly back on our screens for its winter edition, with a whole host of singletons making their way to the South African villa for the new series, set to premiere on 16th January.

Amid the freezing cold UK winter, we seriously cannot wait to watch things heat up as people couple up in a sea of drama, bombshells and emotional turbulence in a bid to find long-lasting love. And while previous seasons of Love Island have turned unknowns into household names, we can now finally introduce you to the opening line-up.

Trust us, you won’t be disappointed with the women entering the villa. With their professions ranging from the likes of payroll administrator to make-up artist, these women are unapologetically themselves and extremely empowered in their quest for love and what they desire. They describe themselves as “fun”, “confident”, “charismatic”, and “good-looking”.

Contestant Tanya Manhenga has also made it known that she has vitiligo, which will undoubtedly have people with the same condition look up on the screen. Meanwhile, others have already had a brush with fame, with Olivia Hawkins revealing she once did a film with Jason Statham and was also Michelle Keegan’s body double! Wow.

Needless to say, the women are impressive, and the men will seriously need to raise their game to be in with a chance at love. So for the full opening list line-up, see below…

Love Island, hosted by Maya Jama, returns for its ninth series on Monday 16th January at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
