Kim Kardashian lands role in TV series

Kim Kardashian is set to star in the upcoming series of popular US television show American Horror Story.

The 42-year-old reality star teased her appearance in the show, co-created by Emmy Award-winning director Ryan Murphy, to her 352m Instagram followers.

She will appear in the 12th season of the horror anthology series alongside Scream Queens actress Emma Roberts, who has appeared in five of the previous seasons.

In a short trailer, the words “Emma Roberts and Kim Kardashian are delicate” were set against a haunting cover of Rock-a-bye Baby.

The role was written “especially for Kim,” Murphy said during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

He described the part as “fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying” for a season that is “unlike anything we have ever done”.

Kardashian has dominated the reality TV genre, appearing in multiple seasons of her own family-based shows Keeping Up With The Kardashians and, more recently, The Kardashians, which the family launched with streaming service Hulu last year.

In 2021 she also hosted popular US comedy show Saturday Night Live, the success of which, according to reports, impressed Murphy.

Kardashian’s other acting credits include guest starring as Debbie Fallon in police drama CSI:NY, voicing an animated alien in comedy American Dad and a cameo appearance in 2018 heist film, Ocean’s 8.

Each season is a self-contained mini-series, featuring different characters in separate fictional universes – though some are loosely inspired by true events.

The 12th series is due to air later this year.
