5 Fashion Trends And Tips To Know For Next Season, According To Tove

Having staged their hugely successful debut runway at London Fashion Week in February, all eyes were on Tove this week to see whether they could pull off a similarly triumphant moment for round two.

To the joy – and relief – of editors like us who boldly claimed that their fashion week debut had immediately propelled themselves to the top of every fashion insider’s ‘must attend’ show schedule, they not only reached similar heights but surpassed them entirely.

Sticking to what they know their customer wants, this was a quietly exceptional collection with nothing extravagant or exhibitionist to detract focus. Ironic then, perhaps, that it was held in the Hayward Gallery; an exhibition space renowned for its installations and immersive experiences. Immersive, though, it certainly was, as we sat eyes wide open, deeply absorbed in Camille Perry and Holly Wright’s vision for spring/summer 2024.

1. QUIET LUXURY REIGNS SUPREME

In case you’ve spent the last six months under a rock, let us introduce you to the concept of quiet luxury. The essence of low-key, nonchalant elegance, quiet luxury is all about label-less fashion that switches the big, bold logos for timeless, well-cut staples in rich fabrics. We’re talking jeans-and-a-nice-top, but in the very chicest sense.

2. ONE-SHOULDER BEATS TWO

If you’re looking for a super simple way to update your aesthetic next season, it’s becoming clear that there’s only one way to go when it comes to sleeves and necklines. Wave goodbye to your halternecks, your strapless tops and your puffed sleeves, and replace them with sleek, sweeping one-shoulder styles reminiscent of your favourite 90s red carpets.

3. SHEER SUBTLTY IS IN

It should come as no surprise that sheer dresses are big news right now. From runways to red carpets, Instagram feeds to TikTok FYPs, the desire for nearly-naked dresses is rife and it’s growing exponentially. Trust Tove, therefore, to tap into the trend with a lighter touch, via embroidered lace and heavy crochet knit-work disguising and giving subtelty to the risqué look.

4. TAP INTO ASYMMETRY

Much like the aforementioned one-shoulder trend, a key look for Tove next season is all about asymmetry. Whether you go for an off-the-shoulder knit which creates a diagonal neckline, a chippy handkerchief hemline, or an open-lapel blazer which reaches across the middle in the way a double-breasted jacket might, for spring/summer 2024 the wonkier the better.

5. MAKE LIQUID DRESSES YOUR GO-TO

Go-to dresses have all fallen under similar categories over recent seasons; denim, floral or shirt dresses for daytime and a classic LBD of an evening. Of course many of us experiment with other styles, but nine times out of ten we’ll revert back to our beloved go-tos before long. Pitching the idea of a new go-to, however, Camille and Holly’s liquid-like silk dresses are simple enough in colour and fit to be able to throw-on-and-go, whilst clever ruching or cuts elevate them infinitely.
