Alec Musser Cause Of Death Revealed

Alec Musser‘s official cause of death has been revealed. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office has determined the All My Children star died by suicide, with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest. He was 50.

The soap star’s fiancée, Paige Press, last saw Musser alive the night before his death at their Del Mar home on January 12, according to a coroner’s office press release. She found Musser “seated and slumped forward on the bathroom floor” on the morning of January 13. “She noted a firearm near him and an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest and called 911,” the release said. “Paramedics and law enforcement responded and confirmed the death.”

Press released an emotional instagram post following his death.

“RIP to the love of my life. @alecmusser I will never stop loving you,” read a post by Press with magazine cutouts of Musser. “My heart is so broken.”

Press shared a photo of Musser and their dog, calling him “the best dog dad” alongside the date he was born (April 11, 1973) and the date of his death (January 13, 2024).

“I am never taking off my ring,” Press wrote in another post sharing her engagement ring. “[Alec], I love you forever.”

Musser played Del Henry on All My Children between 2005 and 2007, credited in a total of 43 episodes. He scored on the ABC soap after becoming the winner of SOAPnet’s I Wanna Be a Soap Star Season 2.

Other credits include Road to the Altar (2009), Rita Rocks (2009), Grown Ups (2010), The Phantom Executioner (2010) and Desperate Housewives (2011).
