If you’re expecting the Susan Fang & Other Stories collaboration to have an ethereal colour palette and silhouettes that draw inspiration from the natural world, you’ll be pleased to hear that’s exactly what you’ll find. It’s what the designer’s renowned for, after all.
Set to be spring encapsulated, the collection – which is due to drop in April – is characterised by the distinctive signatures (think laser-cut flower petals, unique prints and delicate crochet and Broderie Anglaise) that threw Fang to fame back in 2017, when she launched her eponymous label.
“The primary inspiration for this collab was nature and the idea of creating dreamy statement pieces that also could be worn in your daily wardrobe,” Susan Fang told GLAMOUR. “It’s a collection that ties dreams and surrealism together through fashion.”
Finishing touches to some items, like beaded ‘water drops’, lend an extra layer of texture to Fang’s already-dimensional designs. And given the fact that she often uses handcrafted textiles, we expect to see similarities there too.
It’s no surprise that high-street favourite & Other Stories has teamed up with such a name. She was included in the influential BoF 500 class of 2023, was recognised in Forbes’ 30 Under 30 in 2019 and 2020, and her unique design sensibility earned her a coveted spot on the shortlist for the LVMH Prize – so her contributions to fashion have garnered well-deserved acclaim. Add all that to the fact that & Other Stories shares a mutual admiration for feminine clothing, and you’ve got a match made in heaven.
