The Peabody Awards are teaming with the Center for Media & Social Impact to launch We Disrupt This Broadcast, a podcast featuring interviews with TV creatives who are “shaping the future of entertainment with disruptive new narratives and creative approaches.”

Damon Lindelof and Quinta Brunson are the first two guests of the pod, which is being co-hosted by comedian-actor-writers Gabe González and Joyelle Nicole Johnson, executive director of the Center for Media & Social Impact Caty Borum and Peabody executive director Jeffrey Jones.

The Lindelof and Brunson episodes are now live.

New episodes will be released on the second Thursday of every month. The podcast is distributed by public media organization PRX and is available free on-demand across all major podcast platforms.

“Through a comedic and pop-culture lens, we hope to spark curiosity in award-winning TV programming that highlights timely social issues,” said Jones. We Disrupt This Broadcast offers incredible insights from some of the most thrilling media creators who are disrupting traditional broadcast narratives with new issues and perspectives from historically marginalized voices. We’re proud to shine a bright light on powerful programming and we can’t wait for fans to learn from these creators.”

We Disrupt This Broadcast is produced by The Peabody Awards and GoodLaugh at the Center for Media & Social Impact.

Nominations for this years Peabodys will be announced later this month, with winners to be revealed in May. The 2024 awards ceremony is set to take place June 9 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, the body’s first-ever awards show in Los Angeles.
