Balance and Composure Announce Tour and First Album in 8 Years, Share Video for New Song: Watch
Balance and Composure have announced their first new album in eight years: With You in Spirit arrives October 4 via Memory Music. The follow-up to 2016’s Light We Made features the new single “Cross to Bear,” which you can check out below.
Produced by Will Yip, With You in Spirit spans 10 songs in total—none of which appeared on the surprise 2023 Too Quick to Forgive EP. After the band’s four-year hiatus, singer-guitarist Jon Simmons missed his bandmates during the pandemic and decided to reach out. Simmons, lead guitarist Erik Petersen, guitarist Andy Slaymaker, bassist Matt Warner, and drummer Dennis Wilson reunited in October 2022 and started penning ideas immediately, with Yip even co-writing a few parts (leading Balance and Composure to dub him an unofficial sixth member).
“I began to feel like a kid again,” said Simmons. “We were writing these songs for the pure reason of having an outlet and getting together with your friends, no pressure. We were longing for it, and we found it as soon as we got together. We didn’t want that train to stop.”
Balance and Composure have also announced a North American tour in support of the upcoming album. See the tour dates below.
