And just like that, the fashion week circuit has begun, starting with Copenhagen Fashion Week.
While we love to look at the runways for fresh style inspo, let’s be honest, the real inspiration often comes from the streets. And no street style scene is more stylish than at Copenhagen Fashion Week. Thanks to the plethora of ultra-cool Scandi girls who seem to effortlessly combine style and functionality while biking around to shows, many of the outfits snapped on along the Danish capital’s canals often set off trends that reverberate throughout the season, and sometimes even longer. If you still find yourself styling your Havaianas with a milk maid dress, you have the Scandi girls to thank.
Once the underrated little sister of the fashion week capitals, Copenhagen Fashion Week has become a destination for editors and influencers in its own right, and also the leading capital for sustainable fashion. Brands on the fashion week calendar have to check off several sustainable requirements before being allowed to show. The schedule boasts brands such as Saks Potts, Remain, OpéraSport, Stine Goya, Baum und Pferdgarten, Munthe, Gestuz and Rotate. It’s no wonder, therefore, that the biannual event attracts so many major looks to its front rows.
From socks in clogs, leopard print, heavily-accessorised bags, Peter Pan collars and the season’s favourite bubble skirts, there have been endless autumn/winter 2024 trends we already can’t wait to try, courtesy of the Scandi style set.
