Joe Burrow‘s recent success with the Cincinnati Bengals in their NFL match-up against the Dallas Cowboys was unfortunately marred by a break-in at the quarterback’s house. At the time of the incident, Burrow was busy representing the Bengals in their game in Texas. The one-time Pro Bowl nominee’s absence at home seemingly prompted the unidentified perpetrator(s) to conduct a planned trespassing. But, what actually went down at Joe Burrow’s house on Monday?
Here’s everything you need to know regarding the recent break-in at the 28-year-old footballer’s home.
Joe Burrow’s house broke into during Monday Night Football
On Monday night, Joe Burrow’s house experienced a burglary, as confirmed by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office in Ohio. The incident report also mentioned that the break-in took place at the player’s home in Anderson Township, Ohio.
The crime came to light after the authorities received a 911 call from a 22-year-old woman who is reportedly an employee of the NFL veteran and was staying at Joe Burrow’s house at the time. The female’s mother also contacted the police to record the incident.
WLWT has since released the woman’s 911 call. In the published audio, the lady is heard saying, “Someone is trying to break into the house right now. My daughter is there. This is Joe Burrow’s house. She is staying there. He’s at the football game. She’s wondering what she should do, if she should be hiding, or if she should go outside…She said someone was in the house.”
Upon arriving at the scene, the woman noted a shattered bedroom window as well as a pillaged room. She then provided a “non-detailed itemization” of the articles that the robbers could have stolen from Joe Burrow’s house, as per Sports Illustrated.
The break-in at Burrow’s residence is the latest addition to the ongoing larcenies that have ravaged NFL stars of late. Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce notably fell victim to the same in October 2024. As such, the NFL, alongside the NBA and NHL, issued warnings to teams about the rising threat of organized groups that target the houses of athletes in their absence, according to CNN.
At the time of writing, it is unknown if all the aforementioned crimes have any common links.
