Humanitarian Leader to Address Global Conference on Peace, Justice, Sustainability, and Wellness
NEW YORK, NY — Ambassador Dr. Monica Sanchez, international humanitarian, community leader, author, and Founder & CEO of the Miss Caricom International Foundation (MCIF), a United Nations NGO, will appear as a featured panelist at the Peace Panel Discussion convened by the 1000 Shades of Women Foundation International. The high-level global conference takes place Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM in Conference Room 11 (CR-11) at United Nations Headquarters in New York City.
Held under the banner “Global Transformative Action for the Future,” the conference gathers leaders around four pillars—peace, justice, sustainability, and wellness—to examine how governments, civil society, faith leaders, and international organizations can work together to build lasting peace while empowering women, youth, and marginalized communities.
Dr. Sanchez brings to the panel a body of work spanning the Caribbean, Africa, and the global diaspora, with a longstanding focus on peace, education, gender equality, and sustainable development. Guided by her foundation’s mission of “bringing the United Nations to communities and communities to the United Nations,” her contribution will center on practical, community-based partnerships designed to transform vulnerable communities into catalysts for peace, resilience, and leadership.

The panel will invite Dr. Sanchez to speak to the innovative collaborations and grassroots initiatives that have proven most effective in her humanitarian work, and to close with a message of hope for world leaders, young people, and global citizens working toward a more peaceful, inclusive, and sustainable future.
“Peace is built when compassion becomes action, partnerships become purpose, and every community is empowered to shape a future of dignity, justice, and hope.”
The 1000 Shades of Women Foundation International champions a mission to empower, elevate, and transform, advancing women’s leadership and global solidarity across borders. The Peace Panel Discussion continues that work by spotlighting voices shaping transformative action on the world stage.
