Vegan Easter eggs are more popular than ever in 2022 – with those of us who are dairy-free all year-round, those who tried Veganuary and have stuck to it or those who simply like to dabble in a plant-based diet. Once upon a time, Easter wasn’t a very exciting time for vegans, but things have changed. Now, just because you favour oat milk over that of cows, it doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the luxury Easter eggs you’d usually tuck into over the long four-day weekend.
There’s a delicious array of vegan Easter eggs on the market right now – from raspberry chocolate vegan Easter eggs that give those fancy £50 Venchi eggs a run for their money to Hotel Chocolat’s improved vegan selection (think: vegan Ostrich eggs and extra-thick vegan milk chocolate options). And trust us when we say they’re just as delicious as their non-vegan counterparts.
Where can I buy vegan Easter eggs?
Of course, there are lots of small and independent plant-based sellers stocking organic vegan Easter eggs, but you can also pick up dairy-free Easter eggs at department stores and get them delivered direct to your door.
Selfridges, in particular, has an egg-scelent (sorry) offering – with their own Selfridges’ Selection Easter eggs now available as vegan, and brands like Booja Booja and Cocoba stocking their eggs in the iconic food hall.
Elsewhere, Hotel Chocolat has a growing number of vegan Easter eggs on offer, while Holland & Barrett stocks a few sub-£10 options – as do supermarkets like TESCO and Sainsbury’s.
