If I’ve learnt anything from experience it’s that it’s never too early to plan what you’re wearing to to an event. With that; my hunt for autumn wedding guest dresses has commenced. I’ll be damned if anyone is in the same frock as me, so I’m getting ahead of the game and have started shopping several weeks early. If you can take a ‘who wore it best’ moment on the chin I truly commend you, but I like to avoid them at all costs.
Though we hear about it all the time, there’s actually no such thing as “wedding season”, not if you’re anything like me with invitations for what feels like every month of the year. As we begin to see the first swathes of A/W trends begin to line our favourite high-street and designer stores, I’m putting my summer wedding guest dresses on hold ’til next May and will be browsing the best autumn wedding guest dresses from here on out.

The actual purchasing part is easier said than done, however. Whether you’re after autumn wedding guest dresses with sleeves, something sparkly/sequin-y as we edge into winter, or a mini dress adorned in autumnal florals, it can be hard to strike the balance between “best dressed”, “out-shining the bride” and “overly practical”. You’ll want to stay warm while posing for pics outside in the breeze, granted, but it’s not exactly going to be freezing either – especially when you’re on the dance floor – so how to find the perfect middle?
