In an Instagram post, her hair stylist Peter Lux described the cut as a “blunt convex shape (short at the front and long at the back) with long shear bangs”.

But the inspiration for the look became immediately apparent when Peter added the soundtrack to the 1983 movie Scarface. In the film, Michelle Pfeiffer stars as Elvira Hancock, the ultimate bad-girl and seductive blonde whose signature feature was a full fringe and sleek bob with rolled-under ends.
On Florence, the look was so striking it even managed to outshine the diamonds adorning her neck and fingers.
While Florence isn’t the first celebrity to swap their usual length for a bob of late, the style feels far more soft-focus and old-school than say Hailey Bieber’s box bob. Even Florence’s pale sage, chiffon dress by Valentino (apt as she has just been appointed an ambassador for the brand) has a retro feel to it, while her makeup was pared back to a softly smoked-out eye and peach nude lip.
The only nod to this picture being snapped in the here and now is the actress’ silver septum ring.
So is this a taste of the type of jaw-dropping transformation the star is going to serve up at the Met Gala on Monday night? We can’t wait to find out.
