The 80th Golden Globes Awards on the 10th January were a star-studded night complete with quips from host Jerrod Carmichael as well as plenty of awards presented to Angela Bassett, Cate Blanchett, Michelle Yeoh, and many more well-deserving winners. The glitzy night wasn’t complete without some eye-catching ensembles including Basset’s vintage waves and silver sequin Pamella Roland gown, Laverne Cox’s vibrant blue John Galliano dress with chin-grazing curls, and Selena Gomez‘s strapless duo-toned Valentino gown and crystal-encrusted nude manicure.
Manicurist Tom Bachik, who often works with Gomez alongside J.Lo, Margot Robbie, and others, posted a close-up picture of up of Gomez’s Aprés Gel X almond manicure on Instagram. In a statement, Bachik shared that they chose the nude hue to contrast the dark colors of her gown. Bachik started by installing Aprés Gel X tips in medium stiletto and filing them into a softer almond shape. Then, he applied two coats of the brand’s Gel Colour in the light nude shade Forgotten Film. To give each nail that shimmery textured finish, he used Apres Gel X’s Non-Wipe Glossy Top Gelcoat with fine glitter and Swarvoski Pixie Dust.

Gomez’s shiny crystal-covered manicure looked gorgeous alongside her black and burgundy Valentino gown and glam makeup. Makeup artist Hung Vanngo prepped the Only Murders in the Building star’s skin with a selection of Ole Henriksen products before painting her face using Gomez’s own brand, Rare Beauty.
He created her base using the brand’s Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation in 210N, Liquid Touch Brightening Concealer in 201N, and Warm Wishes Effortless Bronzer Sticks in Always Sunny and Happy Sol. He dusted a few shadows from the Discovery Eye Shadow Palette in Came To Play onto her lids for the smoky burgundy eye makeup. For the nude tint on her lips, he combined the Kind Words Matte Lip Liner in Wise with the Kind Words Matte Lipstick in Worthy.
Truthfully, whenever Selena Gomez steps out on a red carpet, we expect nothing less than to be dazzled by and enamoured with her glam. And for the 80th Golden Globes, she did exactly that.
