If you’re looking for an autumn nail colour that isn’t deep burgundy or dark purple but still feels timely, look no further than Selena Gomez.
The actor has been serving up all sorts of unique colour inspo for the season and her latest mani is no exception — but I may need a little help deciding on a name for her specific shade.
As you can see below, Selena’s nails are a gorgeous shape-shifting shade that could be described in a plethora of ways. They’re a long almond shape in a warm, glowy bronze-brown colour that subtly changes as she moves.
In certain light, they look more taupe in tone, and in others, they’re definitely a dark, smoky topaz colour. It’s as if you dipped a brown manicure in pure amber and added a touch of shimmer — and it’s absolutely going to the top of my autumn manicure plans, because I’m obsessed.
If a manicure could be described as “radiant,” this one would be. Plus, do you see how her nails pick up the golden highlights in her dark hair?

Selena Gomez’s manicure was created by her go-to nail artist Tom Bachik. Last night he took to Instagram to reveal the exact colour behind the look he describes in the caption as a “deep rich mysterious shade”. It’s ‘Purplexity’ from the Dynamic Duality collection by @CNDworld – “A deep purple with a gold pearl finish,” he notes.

The two have been having a lot of fun creating custom combos for the star’s nails, including the spiced apple colour that took Tom 40 minutes to perfect. While promoting her movie Emilia Pérez in Telluride, Selena and Tom collaborated on a sweet toffee colour to bridge the gap between summer and autumn, and now that we’re firmly in September, it looks like they’re leaning all the way into the season.
