Jennifer Aniston Mourns Dad John Aniston’s Death in Touching Tribute

Jennifer Aniston revealed on Instagram that her dad, actor John Aniston, passed away on Friday, 11 November. He was 89 years old.

Jennifer shared a series of touching photos of her dad, whose long-running role on Days of Our Lives earned him a Daytime Emmy acting nomination and a lifetime achievement award, with a sweet caption.

“Sweet papa…⁣ John Anthony Aniston,” the 53-year-old wrote on Monday, November 14. “You were one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew. I am so grateful that you went soaring into the heavens in peace—and without pain. And on 11/11 no less! You always had perfect timing. “Don’t forget to visit,” she added, along with a heart and hug emoji.

In June of this year, Jennifer presented her dad with the Daytime Emmy award for lifetime achievement, touting his more than fifty years in television and prolific appearances on various soap operas.

“You name it, I’m sure he’s been on it,” she joked in her speech. “But since 1985, his TV home has been with the cast and crew of the long-running soap opera Days of Our Lives, where he has given masterful performances as the dangerously handsome, perpetually suave businessman Victor Kiriakis,” Jennifer Aniston continued. “His career is literally the definition of lifetime achievement.”

Jennifer’s mom, actor Nancy Dow, passed away in 2016. She and John split when Jennifer was nine years old; John married Sherry Rooney in 1984, and they had a son, Jennifer’s half-brother Alexander.
