Kim Kardashian’s hugely popular SKIMS Fits Everybody range is back in stock, but is it worth the hype? 5 GLAMOUR editors try it and share their brutally honest thoughts…

Whether you’re a Kim Kardashian lover or hater, there’s no denying her ability to rock tight clothing like no other. Latex dresses, corsets, bodycon jumpsuits… you name it, she can pull it off. As such, the 2019 launch of her shapewear line, SKIMS, hardly came as a surprise.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past two years, you’ll have heard a *lot* about it. The hype around her line of lingerie and loungewear is deafening, and each collection sells out at the drop of a hat.

The fact that it’s a hell of a lot more inclusive than many other shapewear brands out there certainly helps. SKIMS has inclusivity at its heart, having been designed with every body and skin tone in mind. Every pieces comes in nine different tonal hues and in sizes XXS to 5XL – and fans are obsessed.

But (and here comes the million-dollar-question): is it really worth the hype? Can underwear be that comfortable? Should you really consider paying £20 for one pair of “cheeky” briefs? Today, the Fits Everybody collection – one of the brand’s most in demand – is being restocked, so we thought it only fair to bring you all the answers. What else to do with our Tuesday to test the most popular pieces and bless you with our most honest reviews?

“I’ve heard raving reviews for SKIMS. I went for the Fits Everybody Bandeau Bra and Fits Everybody Cheeky Brief, as I figured I’d make the most use of them – especially as summer is creeping up, and crop tops and crop hoodies will take over my wardrobe. On first impressions, I’m obsessed with the colour. The ‘chocolatey’ hued set complements my dark complexion so well. Kim did not come to play when she said nudes for everybody.

“The bandeau was tight tight. So tight, you have to shrink your arms and wave them around to get your whole body through the hole. However, as soon as I got it through my trunk and unrolled it, it all made sense. The hold is like no other bandeau I’ve had. Still comfortable, seamless enough to wear under tight clothes, but thick enough to keep the modesty of going braless.

“The same applies to the briefs, no VPL in sight, this is the type of seamless you forget you are wearing panties all together! All in all Kim did not disappoint the people. The prices are not super budget friendly, but no coins were spared in the quality of the garms, so for that, I’d say it’s worth every penny.”

“My first impression when opening the package was ‘feels nice, cute colour’. My first impression when wearing was ‘a Skims bodysuit does not a Kardashian make’.

“I picked the Fits Everybody square neck bodysuit in share dusk to try because I love a bodysuit as a top moment – I usually opt for colour but I thought I’d channel Kim and embrace the neutral life. And I was pleasantly surprised to find the shade flattering and something I see myself wearing regularly. As a top, I think it’s super flattering. As underwear or shapewear, I was less convinced – it didn’t suck me in as much as I’d hoped and my nipples were very visible. When I think of Skims, I think of wriggling into sucking bodywear that is hard to breathe in but makes you looked cinched – this wasn’t that. This was a very nice bodysuit, in a soft fabric. However, it did make my boobs look cracking – maybe the best they’ve ever looked? Thanks, Kiks.”

“As a SKIMS (and Kim) devotee, I knew I was going to love the new Fits Everybody collection before it even arrived. I ordered the Body Cami in Sand (a peachy beige shade) in a size M (I’m a size 12) and it fit like a dream. The fabric is so soft and stretchy it doesn’t feel like I have anything on, but offers a gentle smoothing effect allowing it to be worn under clothes (the neckline is wide and low, so it won’t show even if you wear a low-cut top over it, and the high-rise, thong makes it invisible through trousers – thankfully, it has a popper in the crotch so you don’t have to worry about needing to pee). One thing to note, however, is that it doesn’t provide any hold, so if you’re after that snatched Skims finish, you’ll want to opt for one of the sculpting fabrics instead.

“Think of Fits Everybody as your go-to, supremely comfortable base layer for low-key weekends and days spent lounging around.”

“The entirety of the internet seems to be obsessed with SKIMS, and as a firm Kardashian fan, I’ve been keen to try their sell-out shapewear and lingerie for *time*. I’m a wireless bra obsessive (I find underwire irritating), so the scoop neck bra was at the top of my list. First impressions? Tiny. But so, so soft. Luckily, the stretch on this thing is insane, and once it was over my head, it fit like a glove and didn’t feel too tight. It also gave me enough coverage that the finish under a white t-shirt was smooth AF – which I loved. As for the briefs? Lightweight, soft and so damn comfy. And the (genuinely) no VPL was an added bonus. I’ll be wearing my SKIMS set underneath *everything* this summer, and likely picking up a tonne more colours. Race ya?”

“Upon opening my Strappy Cami and Everyday Thong, I was greeted with a lovely black tissue paper that was matched with a card introducing the products. I felt this was a nice touch that many retailers miss out on. The material is extremely soft and doesn’t irritate my nipple piercing. Black is not see-through and can be worn as a top with high-waisted trousers, a skirt, or under a backless dress.

“I wouldn’t be able to say whether I would pay the retail price without knowing how the products come up in the wash as I’m a little unsure the fabric will stay smooth in texture but I’m hoping I will be proven wrong!”
