Leni Klum’s Squoval Nude Nails Are The Ultimate Manicure Trend Of 2024

Leni Klum never fails to surprise us on the manicure front. At the beginning of the year, she and her mum Heidi Klum heralded the return of the “stiletto nail“. Now she has done it again, debuting a new nail shape that is anything but long on the red carpet.

This weekend, the model was spotted at an event for luxury jewellery brand David Yurman in New York. One thing immediately caught our eye: her beautiful nude nails, filed into a size and shape we have never seen on her before.

Known as ‘squoval’ nails, Leni’s new manicure is a mixture of square and oval nails, courtesy of the rounded corners.

It’s a great nail shape for short nails – and the perfect size for anyone who loves French, strawberry and many other nude manicures as much as we do.

How to recreate Leni Klum’s squoval nude nails

To recreate Leni Klum’s squoval nude nails, start with a short nail. File the tips straight, moving in one direction at a time to avoid nails becoming brittle, then softly round the corners.

For a look like Leni Klum’s, opt for a nude gel manicure – in soft beige rather than pink – with a subtle glitter effect.

Not keen on gel nails? With BIAB or Shellac, you can create similar high shine and durability with a gel-look top coat (e.g. Essie Gel Couture Clear Top Coat Nail Polish).

For the event, Leni Klum teamed her new mani with waist-length wavy hair extensions and smokey eyes. Dark lipstick paired with an even darker lip liner completed the look, adding a glam grunge feel and ultimate volume.

But it was Leni’s ultra-chunky necklace, worn with a black cocktail dress and plunging neckline, that ultimately stole the show.
