Lily Collins is a daydream dressed like a nightmare in her slasher selfie

Lily Collins has cemented herself as the ultimate girl next door with roles ranging from Snow White in Mirror Mirror, to The One Who (Almost) Got Away in Love, Rosie, and aspiring marketing exec, Emily Cooper, in Emily In Paris.

Scrolling through Lily’s Instagram, you’ll likely come across wholesome pictures of her catching up with close friends, cuddling her pup, hitting up Disney Land with her on-screen bestie, Ashley Park, grinning with her famous dad, Phil Collins, in throw back pics and relaxing away from the noise in the countryside with her husband.

But her latest role is a step-change to say the least, and of late, Lily’s daydream grid has been serving up pictures that look more like a nightmare.

Posting a ‘get ready with me’ from the set of Maxxxine, a slasher film starring Mia Goth as a wannabe filmstar and Lily as Molly Bennett, her established co-star in a puritan period thriller, Lily’s prosthetics look crazy scary. She captioned the photo: “Major props to the glam and prosthetics teams for getting all of us slasher ready…” and summarised the look with a one-word observation: “terrifying”.

The prosthetics make her skin look melted and burnt. But it’s only the latest from Lily who had previously shown her trailer within a trailer (it’s all very inception, but essentially the trailer of the film she stars in in Maxxxine). It shows her bite an apple that covers her mouth in blood. She questioned “can an apple a day keep the killer away?” in another post.
