For Nicola Peltz, celebrating her 28th birthday on January 9 meant gathering together some of the closest women in her life and throwing a whacking great spa party, surrounded by pink balloons in varying sizes (yes, there was almost a baby shower vibe to it), a giant unicorn cake and, most importantly, a fresh new manicure.
Of course, this wasn’t any old mani, while fans were busy checking out her party photos on Instagram (there were films, fires, tables laden in cookies galore, yeah we really wish we were there) THAT mani has become of utmost importance. It’s been dubbed ‘Blizzard French’ thanks to its glittery, French manicure-style vibes and we have nail artist Tom Bachik to thank.

You may remember Bachik was the nail master behind Nicola’s wedding day manicure, which was all milky and fresh, and we are just obsessed with his new creation which seems to be more of an ombre, frosted take on the classic and smart French manicure.

Bachik shared the details on his page, telling users he used a combination of two products: Mia Secret’s Almond Extension Gel Tips before adding a few coats of the brand’s Gelux Gel Polish in Rose Petal and White, expertly layering the shades to build a subtle ombre effect. Next, he added a glittery sheen which gave this look the ‘blizzard’ effect – though details on the exact product used hasnt been shared.
His followers were quick to comment on his work. One wrote: “Ombré French with some razzle dazzle”, another added “so gorgeous and clean!” while another wrote: “Wow! They look beautiful! You do such outstanding work, Tom. They are lucky to have you. 😍”
We love how the pair have worked on reinventing the french mani, bringing some wintery vibes with a sprinkling of LA magic and we love Nicola Peltz for bringing it to our attention. This is exactly what our nails are crying out for right now.
