The Winx Saga has become a very popular new Netflix series and it was only right the streaming service graced us with another season! For those of us who are still yet to dive deep into this mash-up of Harry Potter meets Riverdale, the series is based on the Nickelodeon cartoon Winx Club. It follows Abigail Bloom, (played by Abigail Cowen) a Californian teenager who after a devastating accident, learns she is in fact a fairy!
In order to learn how to harness her power, Bloom moves to a magical boarding school in the ‘Otherworld’ where she not only has to come to terms with her newfound powers but must also combat against monsters who threaten their very existence and of course they couldn’t leave out the dangerous charm of some cute boys.
The official synopsis reads: “Determined to master their enchanting powers, a group of teens navigate rivalry, romance and supernatural studies at Alfea, a magical boarding school.”
When is The Winx Saga Season 2 out?
The second season will come packed with eight episodes filled with drama, teen angst and lots of magic. Production is due to start filming in Ireland this year and although we don’t have an official release date, it’s expected to arrive in 2022. Eeek, it feels like a lifetime away, but the way that the past 12 months have flown by, it’ll be here before you know it.
Who is the cast for The Winx Saga Season 2?
Abigail Cowen will reprise her role as protagonist Bloom, Hannah van der Westhuysen will return as Stella, Precious Mustapha as Aisha, Eliot Salt as Terra and Elisha Applebaum as Musa. We are hoping for some new cast members to spice up the story line.
Showrunner Brian Young shares: “As Bloom’s story continues to evolve, I can’t wait for you to learn even more about Aisha, Stella, Terra and Musa. And you never know who might show up at Alfea next term.”
What will happen in The Wings Saga Season 2?
The Fate: The Winx Saga season 1 leaves us with a lot of loose ends, teasing an entirely new dynamic for season 2. We have so many questions and missing pieces of Bloom’s past and are expecting revised power dynamics at Alfea College, and whether or not the fairies and specialists will rebel against Headmistress Rosalind. We are also expecting Sky to emerge as a prominent character in the new season.
According to rumour mill, season two will showcase some changes of the magical school under Rosalind’s leadership. Bloom with now full powers will carry on the pursuit to find out everything about her real family, and the antagonist characters Beatrix, Riven and Dane (played by Sadie Soverall, Freddie Thorp and Theo Graham respectively) will still be around to stir the pot.
