These are the best staycations for each star sign – because Aries and Cancer have different ideas about downtime

We know you want to get abroad – us too. But, we also think embracing travelcloser to home will still inspire, relax and excite the mind. Would you otherwise see more of Britain this year, without the pandemic? Probably not. So we may as well enjoy exploring what’s nearby through a staycation while there’s the motivation.

What you go for when browsing potential destinations might just be swayed by your star sign, little did you know. Like with all things in life, your sign’s qualities and traits will influence what personally appeals. While Aries value adventure and buoyancy, Cancers will opt for something that appeals to their sentimental and gentle nature.

In order to help steer your staycation planning, Just Car Checks have revealed what works best for each sign, from the location to the activity.

Aries (March 21 – April 19)

Aries people are driven and strive to experience new things. Therefore, they’re easily bored and aren’t looking to laze by a pool or beach – they want action.

Snowdonia presents the perfect opportunity for an Aries to take a break with a digital detox but stay active with endless physical activity. Switching off the WiFi and taking the Snowdon Mountain Railway to Eryri, home to one of the most popular hiking destinations in Britain, is perfect for an Aries. The Snowdonia National Park is abundant in cultural heritage, perfect for an Aries to expand their knowledge and try new things.

Taurus (April 20 – May 20)

Deep thinking is what a Taurus does best. Acquaintances may deem a Taurus as lazy; however, a Taurus’ inner circle know they just take their sweet time and analyse things before committing.

The Isle of Wight offers a Taurus a blissful, slow-moving environment that allows them to thrive. You will likely find a Taurus residing in a lodge with a hot tub where they will be making their way through their reading list, partaking in yoga and mindfulness sessions whilst having a generous amount of lie ins.

Gemini (May21 – June 20)

A Gemini tends to be impulsive, sociable, fun loving and want to see the world. They like fast paced settings that will spark their interest and require constant mental stimulation. A Gemini often makes their own fun as they are highly creative beings.

Cornwall is the perfect destination for a Gemini as this destination allows them to take part in a plethora of activities, continuously socialise and witness unique sites. Charlestown Harbour, along Cornwall’s southern coastline allows a Gemini to try an array of water sports, from SUP, canoeing and jet skiing. The location also features unique beaches and heritage sites, allowing a Gemini to witness things that they have not seen before and grow their knowledge.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22)

Loyal, emotionally intelligent, and very sentimental, a Cancer is happiest when they are surrounded by those they love. A sign that loves to be the centre of attention, you will often find a Cancer taking centre stage to tell a funny anecdote or devising a plan of action for their next outing with friends. They love collecting memories and can often recall their favourite memories with detail.

Their effortless sentimentality leans a Cancer towards a staycation that stirs nostalgia. They are likely to frequently return to a destination that they have visited since they were a child. A lodge in Norfolk is perfect for a Cancer as the destination allows them to visit their favourite childhood beaches and enjoy a cocktail at one of its many bars in the evening.

Leo (July 23 – August 22)

If a Leo commits to something, they will give it their all. They strive to be number one and often gain a reputation for being the best at everything. They are unapologetically materialistic and favour the finer things.

Brighton boasts numerous amounts of unique B&Bs, hotels and Air B&Bs, allowing a Leo the opportunity to showcase their affluent finds on Instagram. You will find a Leo at the nearest Insta friendly cocktail bar after a fun filled bottomless brunch.

Virgo (August 23 – September 22)

A Virgo does not compromise, and high standards are a must, but they are prone to imposter syndrome. To an outsider, they move through life seamlessly with a lot of grace however, below the surface the frantically work to get what they want done. Although they may seem a little uptight, they are playful characters that love to let their hair down.

You will find a Virgo admiring the wild horses at New Forest, whilst winding down in a cabin (with a hot tub, of course). They may relax with friends throughout the day however, as the evening draws closer, you will find them acting as the perfect host, making cocktails in their cabin and devising party games.

Libra (September 23 – October 22)

A deep thinker, a Libra assesses all eventualities before establishing a decision. A Libra adores purchasing new things and obtains instant happiness from them. They take great pride in their appearance and are known to never buy what they like, and instead save for what they love.

A Libra will provide staycation goals as they will likely rent a home with copious amounts of rooms, a tennis court and pool. Kent is full of luxe properties, perfect for a Libra and the hustle and bustle of Canterbury allows them to sight see and – importantly – shop.

Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)

A Scorpio is led by trends, whether it’s fashion, interiors, or the latest workout style, they are always in the know.

Bath has a cool quality and a Scorpio is likely to fit right in. A Scorpio will appreciate architecture such as Baths royal Crescent and find the Roman baths divine. Home of 5* luxury, a Scorpio will indulge in spa treatments and enjoy wandering for hours between several independent shops.

Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)

A Sagittarius is happiest when they are in the great outdoors. They will participate in almost every activity and will be prepared to travel anywhere to do it. Always on the go, it can be hard to keep up with a Sagittarius.

Whether you’re visiting Go Ape, trying clay pigeon shooting or blowing off steam at laser tag, the Peak District was made for a Sagittarius. There will be no activity off the cards as they embark on hikes through the Peak Districts national park, favouring the likes of Stan Edge walk for its complexity and breath-taking views.

Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)

A Capricorn values the finer things in life. However, they are only likely to consider investing in luxury if they feel they are deserving of it. Capricorns are homebodies, and whilst they recognise that they need to switch off, they seek a home from home on their vacation. Capricorns need to feel comfortable in their surroundings for them to fully enjoy the experience.

York is the perfect destination for a Capricorn. Renting a home allows them to bring along their home comforts whilst the likes of the cathedral allow them to expand their cultural knowledge. You will likely find the foodie Capricorn enjoying an afternoon tea in Betty’s tearoom as they will fully appreciate its quality. York’s several country pubs will allow a Capricorn to be comfortable in their surroundings.

Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)

An Aquarius favours a slower pace in life and is often regarded as laid back. They crave experiences that are restful, are not afraid of a digital detox and love to emulate a feeling of traditional country fun.

The Cotswolds allows an Aquarius to enjoy a slower pace of life whilst giving them with new experiences. You are likely to find an Aquarius in the countryside building their collection of poetry whilst practicing mindfulness in a break from a long country walk. They love residing in cottages that are full of character in places such as Kingham, which is often regarded as England’s favourite village.

Pisces (February 19 – March 20)

A Pisces is partial to a nap and favours their own company. They love to travel the world alone, love lone activities such as swimming and are very arty. A Pisces holds no ego and does not tend to care what others think of them if everyone around them seems happy.

Edinburgh will fuel a Pisces creative flair as they visit destinations such as Palace of Holyrood House, a palace that is a combination of a historical landmark and art gallery. Edinburgh old town is sure to get the Pisces creative juices flowing and the city in general is perfect for those seeking a staycation on their own.
