‘Anything’s Possible’ Trailer: First Look At Billy Porter’s Feature Directorial Debut

Amazon today unveiled the first trailer for Billy Porter’s feature directorial debut, Anything’s Possible, which launches globally on Prime Video on July 22.

The film written by Ximena García Lecuona is a modern Gen Z coming-of-age story that follows Kelsa (Eva Reign), a confident high school girl who is trans, as she navigates through senior year. When her classmate Khal (Abubakr Ali) gets a crush on her, he musters up the courage to ask her out, despite the drama he knows it could cause. What transpires is a romance that showcases the joy, tenderness and pain of young love.

Renée Elise Goldsberry also stars in the pic from Orion Pictures, Andrew Lauren Productions and Killer Films. Christine Vachon, David Hinojosa, Andrew Lauren and D.J. Gugenheim produced it, with Lecuona, Porter and Allison Rose Carter serving as EPs.

Porter is an actor, singer, director, composer and playwright best known for his Emmy-winning turn as Ball scene emcee Pray Tell on FX’s Pose. He also recently appeared in Amazon’s live-action remake of Cinderella, CBS All Access’ The Twilight Zone and American Horror Story: Apocalypse, also narrating HBO Max’s docuseries, Equal. His theatre credits include the role of Lola in the Broadway musical Kinky Boots, which he originated in 2013—landing Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle Awards, as well as the Grammy for Best Musical-Theatre Album.

The multi-hyphenate is also set to direct a queer teen comedy from Gabrielle Union’s I’ll Have Another Productions, titled To Be Real. Just yesterday it was announced that he will star alongside Luke Evans in the custody-battle drama Our Son, from director Bill Oliver.
