Bleecker Street’s Western Drama Film ‘Montana Story’ Gets May Release Date, Trailer

An official trailer and released date for Scott McGehee and David Siegel directed film Montana Story has dropped.

The film first premiered at the Toronto film festival in September. A few weeks after that, Bleecker Street acquired U.S. rights and Stage 6 Films has acquired international rights to the pic in a separate deal. This western drama stars  Haley Lu RichardsonOwen Teague, Gilbert Owuor, Kimberly Guerrero, Eugene Brave Rock and Asivak Koostachin.

The film follows estranged siblings Cal (Owen Teague) and Erin (Haley Lu Richardson), who return home to the sprawling ranch they once knew and loved, confronting a deep and bitter family legacy against the backdrop of the Montana landscape. The fates of their ailing, unscrupulous father and a beloved old horse hang in the balance while the two try to rekindle their familial bond.

McGehee and Siegel shot Montana Story on 35mm anamorphic film over a six-week stretch last winter in and around the Paradise Valley near of Livingston, MT, after crafting the story in New York during the pandemic lockdown.
