Ellen Burstyn Knows The Reason She’s Still Juggling Multiple Acting Roles At Age 90

In a chat for Interview magazine with her Law & Order: Organized Crime costar, Christopher Meloni, Ellen Burstyn marveled at the amount of work she’s getting at her age.

Now reprising a role she first did 50 years ago for the new film, The Exorcist: Believer, Burstyn termed the amount of work she’s doing is “bizarre.”

“I turn 91 in December and I’m busier than I can ever remember being at any point in my career,” said Burstyn. The talk happened in early July, and Burstyn was at the time “juggling” the production of two movies in the fall.

“And I don’t understand it at all. I mean, what’s all this stuff about ageism in Hollywood? How did I get left out of it?”

Meloni, a mere youth of 62, asked what she attributes it to.

“I don’t know, except possibly that everybody else who could play those parts has already died, so I’m the only actress still standing who can play the great-grandmother or something.”
