‘Eyes Of Tammy Faye’ Actor Gabriel Olds Faces Life Behind Bars If Found Guilty Of Multiple Rape Charges – Update

Update, 2:35 PM: The Eyes of Tammy Faye actor Gabriel Olds is looking at a life sentence if found guilty of raping three women, LA District Attorney George Gascón said today.

Arrested by the LAPD on August 7, the 52-year-old actor is scheduled to be arraigned this afternoon out at the Airport Courthouse. The DA’s office will ask the court to order Olds be held on bail of $3.5 million.

Olds is charged with a trio of forcible rape counts in relation to women he had relationships with from 2013 – 2023. Specifically, those charges are one count of rape of an unconscious or asleep person; one count of sodomy by use of force; one count of assault with intent to commit a felony; and one count of injuring a spouse, cohabitant, fiancé, boyfriend, girlfriend, or child’s parent.

“The pain and suffering these victims have endured is beyond words and no one should ever experience such a betrayal of trust. Consent is never optional,” DA Gascón stated Thursday as the charges and potential sentence were officially announced. “The alleged actions of Mr. Olds are utterly inexcusable and a grave violation of these women’s rights. We are steadfast in our commitment to prosecute this case and ensure that the offender is held fully accountable. Our Bureau of Victim Services remains ready to assist the survivors with trauma-informed services as they navigate the difficult road to healing.”

Previously, 10:14 AM: Gabriel Olds, the actor who played Pat Robertson in the 2021 feature film The Eyes of Tammy Faye, has been charged with seven felony sexual assault charges in Los Angeles.

The L.A. Superior Court last month issued a warrant for Olds’ arrest for $3.5 million after the charges were filed. He was taken into custody and booked on August 7. The LAPD is now seeking additional victims and witnesses in a series of sexual assaults in the L.A. area.

According to the charges, Olds, who has made appearances on NCIS: Los Angeles, Amazing Stories and SEAL Team, allegedly raped a 41-year-old woman on January 19, 2023. After the woman reported the rape, two additional adult victims came forward and made similar reports dating back to 2013.

The women describe consensual dating encounters “that descended into violent sexual assault.” In addition to the three women, two additional women have reported lesser violent sexual conduct by Olds. Detectives suspect there may be more victims nationwide “due to Olds’ travels as an actor.”

The women who made the allegations say Olds used his status as an Ivy League alumnus with success in the film industry to meet women to arrange dates. In recent years, several women reported meeting him via dating applications. According to police, “Each victim reported that Olds lured them into a false sense of security during their initial encounters, then turned violent without seeking their consent.”

“We heard the same story again and again,” said Detective Brent Hopkins, a Special Assault Section supervisor. “Mr. Olds started off charming, but then used brutal violence to carry out these rapes. Some of these survivors suffered in silence for years before finding the strength to speak up. Now that he’s off the streets, we want to make sure everyone has a chance to be heard.”
