The Twilight Saga grew to great heights behind the love triangle between Bella Swan, Edward Cullen, and Jacob Black, but none were involved in the best couple relationship in the franchise. Based on the book series by Stephenie Meyer, Twilight follows Bella Swan as a high school student who finds herself in a love triangle between a vampire and a werewolf. Throughout it all, critics accused the Twilight franchise of promoting toxic relationships, including manipulation, fear, sexual abuse, and stalking accusations.
These three characters might have led the franchise, but there were several other relationships and romances in the Twilight series. There were Rosalie and Emmett, Alice and Jasper, and Carlisle and Esme in the Cullen family alone. The shape-shifters included Sam in his own triangle with Emily and Leah. Charlie Swan even gained a love interest with Sue Clearwater at the franchise’s end. However, none of the romantic relationships were as special as that between Alice and Jasper, the best couple in the entire Twilight franchise.
Alice & Jasper Had The Perfect Relationship In Twilight
Alice & Jasper’s Powers Helped Them Match Perfectly
While most fans were arguing about being “Team Edward” or “Team Jacob,” the fight for Bella Swan’s affection wasn’t the best romantic relationship in the franchise. Their love triangle was all about manipulation, toxic masculinity, and two men treating a woman like a piece of property. However, when looking at other members of Edward’s family, these three could find perfect role models to follow if they wanted to create a stable and loving relationship.

What helps them fit so well together is their past trauma. Alice Cullen had premonitions as a child and saw her mother’s murder. No one believed her, and when her mother was murdered, her father claimed it was only an accident and had her institutionalized when she realized he planned to kill her. A vampire in the asylum befriended her and turned her when she foresaw a vampire named James was going to hunt her down to kill her. This helped her survive, but the vampire who turned her sacrificed himself to protect her.
Jasper Hale was a major in the Confederate Army in the Civil War and was turned into a vampire by a woman named Maria. The goal was for him to help her create a newborn vampire army, and he became a violent killer during the Southern Vampire Wars. When he met Alice, he was tired of the violence and wanted to live in peace. The two quickly connected and fell in love.

A big part of their love story is also their powers. Alice has her powers of subjective premonition. She uses her visions to keep her family safe and has become a protector for all she loves. Jasper, on the other hand, has pathokinesis, which is the ability to sense and change the emotions of others. This gives Alice and Jasper incredible levels of empathy, and, along with their traumatic backgrounds, they are two of the kindest and most loyal members of the Cullen family.

Twilight: 10 Most Problematic Things Edward Did
Edward Cullen of Twilight is loved by fans everywhere, but the vampire certainly did some pretty problematic things…
At the same time, Bella has shown the same sort of actions towards Edward. When Edward wanted to leave Bella to keep her safe, she demanded he remain with her forever and never talk about leaving her ever again. This caused Edward to run, and Bella began to hurt herself, knowing it would negatively affect Edward. Finally, Bella demanded Edward turn her into a vampire, even though he said it would hurt him, and she made it clear she didn’t care.
Edward and Bella had the most important relationship in The Twilight Saga, but it was nowhere near the best romantic coupling.
