Olivia Wilde, Gregg Araki Team On Black Bear Thriller ‘I Want Your Sex’

Olivia Wilde (Don’t Worry Darling) has signed on to star in I Want Your Sex, a new thriller from director Gregg Araki (Mysterious Skin) and Black Bear.

Blithely exploring desire, domination and fantasy, the film asks the question, how far is too far? When fresh-faced Elliot lands an exciting job for renowned artist, icon and provocateur Erika Tracy (Wilde), his fantasies come true as Erika taps him to become her sexual muse. But Elliot soon finds himself out of his depth as Erika takes him on a journey more profound than he ever could have imagined, into a world of sex, obsession, power, betrayal and murder.

Written by Karley Sciortino (Slutever, Now Apocalypse) & Araki, the film will be produced by Seth Caplan, as well as Black Bear’s Teddy Schwarzman and Michael Heimler. Exec producers include John Friedberg and Courtney L. Cunniff. Black Bear will also fully finance the picture and introduce it to international buyers in Cannes next week. CAA Media Finance will be handling U.S. rights and production is set to begin in Los Angeles this summer.

Most recently directing and starring in the Venice-premiering Don’t Worry Darling and appearing in Damien Chazelle’s Babylon, Wilde is currently attached to direct Avengelyne, a film adaptation of the ’90s comic books, as well as the Christmas comedy Naughty for Universal Pictures, both of which will be produced by Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap.

Breaking out with Mysterious Skin, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Elisabeth Shue, which earned him a nomination for Best Director at the Film Independent Spirit Awards, Araki is also known for titles like White Bird in a Blizzard, Kaboom, and The Doom Generation, as well as his Starz series Now Apocalypse. Additionally, he’s directed on shows like American Gigolo, Monster and 13 Reasons Why, among others.

Araki is repped by Black Bear; Wilde by CAA, Hamilton Hodell, Untitled Entertainment, and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole; and Sciortino by CAA, Brigade Talent and Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz.
