Paramount Home Entertainment has announced the Transformers One 4K, Blu-ray, and digital release dates for Paramount Pictures‘ latest installment to the blockbuster sci-fi action franchise. Despite under-performing at the box office, the animated prequel garnered positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. It currently holds a Certified Fresh Tomatometer rating of 88% on Rotten Tomatoes, as well as a near-perfect Popcornmeter score of 98%.

“The film is the untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, better known as sworn enemies, but once were friends bonded like brothers who changed the fate of Cybertron forever,” reads the synopsis.

When are the Transformers One 4K, Blu-ray, and digital release dates?

The Transformers One movie will be available to rent or own on digital platforms starting on October 22. It will then be followed by its 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD release on December 17. The home video and physical releases will include over 45 minutes of bonus content.

Described as the first-ever fully CG-animated Transformers movie, the film was directed by Josh Cooley from a screenplay written by Andrew Barer, Steve Desmond, Gabriel Ferrari, and Michael Sherman. It features the voices of Chris Hemsworth as Orion Pax/Optimus Prime, Brian Tyree Henry as D-16/Megatron, Keegan-Michael Key as Bumblebee, Scarlett Johansson as Elita, Jon Hamm as Sentinel Prime, Laurence Fishburne as Alpha Trion, and Steve Buscemi as Starscream.
