Worker Dies By Apparent Suicide At Trilith Studios Near Atlanta

Police are investigating an apparent suicide at Trilith Studios in the Atlanta suburb of Fayetteville, GA.

Officers and medical personnel responded to a report of an “unconscious adult contractor” inside a vehicle on the studio property at around 6:47 a.m. Wednesday, according to a police statement. The unidentified person was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police say foul play is not suspected and the investigation is not connected to any ongoing studio projects.

A crew member told Deadline the dead worker as a Teamster, but that has not been confirmed.

Deadline has reached out to the Teamsters and other unions, and Trillith Studios and we will update this story if/when we receive a response.

Located south of Atlanta, Trilith Studios is comprised of a 700-acre site, with a 400-acre backlot and 32 soundstages. Originally known as Pinewood Atlanta Studios, Trilith has been used to produce many television series, including Marvel’s WandaVision and Loki and movies such as Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. The first production to film at the studio was Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man (2015). The studio was renamed Trilith Studios in October 2020.
