100 gecs Remix Linkin Park’s “One Step Closer”: Listen

100 gecs have released a new remix of “One Step Closer,” the lead single from Linkin Park’s 2000 debut album Hybrid Theory, which celebrated its 20th anniversary last year. It’s the first remix from a forthcoming series of Hybrid Theory remixes. Listen to “One Step Closer (100 gecs Reanimation)” below.

“Part of the spirit of Reanimation was to take the Hybrid Theory songs that people knew so well, and let innovative artists flip them in ways nobody expected,” Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda said in a press release. “I think 100 gecs did exactly that.”

The new 100 gecs “Reanimation” follows the duo’s holiday song “sympathy 4 the grinch,” released late last year. They put out a remix album of their own, 1000 gecs & the Tree of Clues, last summer.

Linkin Park’s most recent album, One More Light, released in 2017, was their last to feature late frontman Chester Bennington.
