On Monday night, the late Taylor Hawkins’ cover band, Chevy Metal, played a set at the Rock N Roll Pizza Bar in Simi Valley, California. Joining the group was one of Hawkins’ Foo Fighters bandmates, Dave Grohl, who helped Chevy Metal cover a number of classic rock songs. See photos from the show, taken by Andi K. Taylor, below.

Head to YouTube to watch Grohl and Chevy Metal play the Police’s “Next to You,” the Rolling Stones’ “Bitch,” Van Halen’s “Everybody Wants Some!!,” “Jamie’s Cryin’,” and “Ain’t Talkin’ ’Bout Love,” Spinal Tap’s “Jazz Odyssey,” Led Zeppelin’s “Moby Dick,” Queen’s “Tie Your Mother Down,” the Kinks’ “You Really Got Me,” and AC/DC’s “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap.”

For the AC/DC cover, Grohl and Chevy Metal were joined on drums by Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith. Taylor Hawkins’ son, Shane, also drummed during the set, as did Gregg Bissonette and Stephen Perkins.

Chevy Metal were among the bands to perform at last year’s Taylor Hawkins tribute concert in London. Read “The Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert Made Everyone Cry” on the Pitch.
