Death Grips Resurface With Rare Post to Deny Breakup Rumors

Earlier this year, there was a small bit of consternation in the Death Grips fan community due to an apparent private comment from erstwhile band member Andy Morin that was leaked publicly. In the message, Morin suggested the band had broken up, but conceded “none of us can ever predict what will happen with the group.”

Death Grips have now made their first Instagram post since October 2023 to refute breakup rumors. Core members Stefan “MC Ride” Burnett and Zach Hill assured fans, “Despite rumor and hearsay, we remain active as Death Grips.”

The idea of a breakup (or fake breakup) is not foreign to Death Grips fans, as they split in 2014, but never really stopped making or releasing music. Both Fashion Week and The Powers That B arrived in 2015.

Death Grips most recently released Year of the Snitch in 2018 and toured in 2023.
