Hot Chip have announced their first album in three years. Freakout/Release is out August 19 via Domino. The follow-up to A Bath Full of Ecstasy is Owen Clarke, Al Doyle, Joe Goddard, Felix Martin, and Alexis Taylor was recorded at the band’s Relax & Enjoy Studio in East London. Below, check out the Douglas Hart and Steve Mackey–directed video for their first single “Down,” which heavily samples Universal Togetherness Band’s “More Than Enough.”

The album features contributions Cadence Weapon, Soulwax, and Lou Hayter. “We were living through a period where it was very easy to feel like people were losing control of their lives in different ways,” Joe Goddard said. “There’s a darkness that runs through a lot of those tracks.”
