The Avalanches’ current 2022 tour of North America has been canceled “due to serious illness.” The group announced the news today on social media. The Avalanches were halfway through their scheduled tour, with eight dates remaining in the US and Canada. All of those concerts have been scrapped.
“Unfortunately due to serious illness, we have had to make the heartbreaking decision to cancel our remaining US and Canadian shows to return home,” their post reads. “Thank you to everyone who has made this tour so joyous, and apologies to everyone who had tickets for the remaining shows. All ticket holders will be contacted directly with refund details. Thank you.”
Originally, the Avalanches’ 2022 tour was scheduled to take place in February and March of this year before being postponed due to “due to ongoing personal health issues.”
We Will Always Love You, the group’s most recent album, came out in 2020. Last year, the Avalanches also released a special 20th anniversary edition of their classic debut Since I Left You and an MF Doom remix of “Tonight May Have to Last Me All My Life.”
