Watch Beyoncé’s NFL Christmas Halftime Show

Beyoncé took the field in her Houston hometown to play the halftime show during one of the NFL’s first Christmas game to stream live on Netflix. At NRG Stadium—as the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens took a break from the game action—she performed Cowboy Carter cuts, beginning with “16 Carriages,” as she rode atop a white horse. She then did “Blackbiird,” with Brittney Spencer, Reyna Roberts, Tanner Adell, and Tiera Kennedy, before going into “Ya Ya” and Renaissance’s “My House.”

Beyoncé continued to bring Cowboy Carter to life by bringing out high-profile guests Shaboozey (for “Sweet ★ Honey ★ Buckiin’”) and Post Malone (“Levii’s Jeans”), before launching into “Jolene” and “Texas Hold ’Em,” dancing with her daughter, Blue Ivy, during the latter song. Watch the performance on Netflix, beginning around the 2:09:00 mark, or check out footage on X.

Immediately following her performance, Beyoncé shared a teaser video for something that’s coming on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. Pitchfork has reached out to her representatives for more information.

Beyoncé is a regulator NFL collaborator. In 2013, with her Destiny’s Child bandmates, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, she played the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show in New Orleans. She also took part in the Super Bowl 50 halftime show, in Santa Clara, California, in 2016. In addition, Beyoncé’s husband, Jay-Z, and his Roc Nation company announced an NFL partnership in 2019, and they have produced every Super Bowl halftime show since 2020.

Beyoncé announced her new album, in February, during the Super Bowl LVIII broadcast. She also shared its first two singles, “Texas Hold ’Em” and “16 Carriages.” The musician later revealed the album’s title, Cowboy Carter, and released it on March 29. Recently, Beyoncé scored 11 nominations at the 2025 Grammy Awards for Cowboy Carter and its tracks. She’ll be seeking her first-ever victory for Album of the Year, while also competing for country, Americana, pop, and rap awards.
