Here are all the stars taking part in Celebrity Bake Off

The Great British Bake Off tent is getting a taste of Hollywood – plus some chart-toppers, an Olympic champion and a woman who’s never been afraid of a challenge – for its latest celebrity series.

Due to air in the spring, some 20 famous faces will be baking to impress judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood in The Great Celebrity Bake Off For Stand Up To Cancer.

Host Matt Lucas will also return to the famous tent for the five-episode series for Channel 4.

Here’s who’s taking part.

James McAvoy

The Scottish actor rose to fame starring in Shameless in the UK, before making a career in Hollywood with films including The Last King Of Scotland, Split and the X-Men series. The Golden Globe and BAFTA-nominated star most recently appeared on screen as Lord Asriel in the BBC adaptation of His Dark Materials.

Daisy Ridley

Best known for starring as Rey in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, the actress is set to appear in upcoming science fiction thriller Chaos Walking alongside Tom Holland, and spy biopic A Woman Of No Importance.

Dame Kelly Holmes

A former middle-distance athlete who specialised in the 800m and 1,500m events. Her first Olympic medal was a bronze in Sydney in 2000 for the 800m – before she went on to win gold for both races at the 2004 Olympics in Athens. She still holds the British record for the 800m.

David Baddiel

A comedian and TV presenter known for his comedy partnership with Frank Skinner and for writing the England football anthem Three Lions in the 1990s, he is also a novelist and has written a new book, #JewsDontCount, on modern forms of antisemitism.

Jade Thirlwall

She found fame on The X Factor in 2011 when her group, Little Mix, became the first band to win the show. They went on to top the charts and become one of the UK’s biggest pop acts.

Dizzee Rascal

A pioneer of grime music, the east London rapper released his debut album Boy In Da Corner in 2003. It went on to win the prestigious Mercury Prize, ahead of Coldplay’s second album, A Rush Of Blood To The Head, and Radiohead’s sixth, Hail To The Thief.

Anneka Rice

A household name in the 1980s and ’90s, Rice was famous for Channel 4’s game show Treasure Hunt and went on to launch her own series, Challenge Anneka, in 1989, which saw her taking on tasks to complete – usually while wearing a fabulous jumpsuit.

Alexandra Burke

She was the winner of the fifth series of The X Factor in 2008, famously performing with her hero Beyoncé during the final. The singer went on to top the charts with hits including Hallelujah and Broken Heels, and has also made a career in the West End, starring in musicals including The Bodyguard and Sister Act, and taken part in Strictly Come Dancing.

John Bishop

A Liverpool-born comedian and actor who is best known for his stand-up and appearances on panel shows including Sky One’s A League Of Their Own. He was recently cast as a companion for the latest series of Doctor Who.

Stacey Dooley

Stacey Dooley is taking part in The Great Celebrity Bake Off. Pic: Channel 4

After making a name for herself fronting investigative documentaries on social issues, she won Strictly Come Dancing alongside professional dance partner and now-boyfriend Kevin Clifton in 2018. She was also given an MBE for services to broadcasting that same year.

Tom Allen

The comedian is already known to the Bake Off world, after hosting Bake Off: The Professionals and featuring regularly on the spin-off Extra Slice.

KSI

YouTuber and rapper KSI, whose real name is Olajide William "JJ" Olatunji, is taking part in The Great Celebrity Bake Off For Stand Up To Cancer. Pic: Channel 4

Real name Olajide William “JJ” Olatunji, he’s a YouTuber, boxer and rapper who has more than 22 million subscribers on the video platform, and last year released his debut album. In 2019, he was named by The Times as the runner-up in its list of 100 top UK influencers.

Ade Adepitan

Having survived polio as a child, Adepitan went on to compete as a wheelchair basketball player at international level before moving into presenting. He was made an MBE for services to disability sport in 2005.

Nick Grimshaw

Nick Grimshaw is taking part in The Great Celebrity Bake Off. Pic: Channel 4

Known as Grimmy, the television and radio presenter has hosted a range of shows on BBC Radio 1, including breakfast and drive. He is also known for appearing in Celebrity Gogglebox alongside his niece, Liv.

Rob Beckett

A stand-up comedian and panel show regular, he has a comedy partnership with Romesh Ranganathan. He’s known for programmes including 8 Out Of 10 Cats and Mock The Week, as well as narrating the reality series Celebs Go Dating.

Anne-Marie

A singer who has worked with artists including Clean Bandit and Sean Paul on the chart-topping hit Rockabye, she was nominated for four awards, including best British female solo artist, at the Brits in 2019.

Nadine Coyle

One-fifth of one of the UK’s most successful girl groups, she found fame with Girls Aloud when they won Popstars: The Rivals in 2002. The group had four number one singles and two number one albums before they split. In 2019, she took part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.

Katherine Ryan

A Canadian stand-up star and actress who lives in the UK, she is a regular face on shows including Mock The Week and Have I Got News For You, and also recently starred in her own Netflix comedy series, The Duchess, about a mother who wants a sibling for her daughter.

Reece Shearsmith

The actor and writer was one of the brains behind cult sketch show The League Of Gentlemen and also co-created comedy series Psychoville.

Philippa Perry

Philippa Perry is taking part in The Great Celebrity Bake Off. Pic: Channel 4

A renowned psychotherapist who is known for her books, including How To Stay Sane, and her documentaries for the BBC and Channel 4.
