Fans recently watched American Idol bring Season 23 to its finale. The main event even featured performances from various artists, including Patti LaBelle, The Goo Goo Dolls, Jessica Simpson, and Good Charlotte.
However, the big moment was when the votes came in, revealing who had won the season. Jamal Roberts was ultimately chosen as the season’s winner, with John Foster being the first runner-up.
As previously reported, there had been a lot of discourse over the season’s winner as the announcement was made. Some online search engines erroneously declared Foster the winner, much to the confusion of fans.
With the season coming to an end, Foster himself took to social media to share his thoughts with fans. In a post on Instagram, he wrote in a caption, “After gathering my thoughts, here is my latest message to my family!”
Fans Shared Their Hope To See Foster’s Dreams Come True Someday
“I also want to send a very heartfelt congratulations to all of my fellow finalists, especially Jamal, his family, and his community; he is an incredible performer with whom I’m honored to have shared a stage. I’ll certainly be praying for him as he continues his journey.”
In the accompanying photo, Foster also wrote a lengthy caption paired next to a photo of him performing. He shared, “No words can describe how I truly feel, but I hope that these will try. I can vividly remember that feeling of ‘I’ll never be good enough’ in my early days of Idol, and I can gladly say that I proved myself wrong. I’ve gained friends, confidence, life skills, and most importantly, I gained you, my family.”
The message continued, “My gratitude will NEVER be fully expressed, but I hope to show it by working hard to give you some new country music and show dates as soon as I can. God has a reason for me being runner-up, and I will always trust His plan! This is merely a first step into what He has in store for me, and I cannot wait to see what lies ahead. I love you!” Foster ended his message with a signature.
Taking to the comments, fans shared their thoughts on Foster’s time on the show. Many shared the hope that they would see his musical career take off someday. A few also touched on the meaning they found in his recent message. Some comments included:
