How Far Does Baylee Littrell Make It?

How Far Does Baylee Littrell Make It?

As American Idol comes back for another season, one contestant seemed somewhat familiar to the judges. Stepping into the audition room was Baylee Littrell, who has an interesting connection in show business. An inside source recently teased what could happen next on the competition series concerning Littrell.

Baylee Littrell Seemed Familiar To New Judge Carrie Underwood

Baylee notably has music in his blood. He is the son of Brian Littrell, who was a member of the boyband, Backstreet Boys.

Baylee is a country artist, notably even having released the album, 770-Country. In addition, Baylee has also performed on Broadway, appearing in Disaster!, as a pair of twins. In 2019, Baylee even served as the opening act for his father’s band during their DNA world tour.

During his audition, Carrie Underwood notably mused, “There’s something about you that looks familiar.” This caused Baylee to explain who his father was.

A clip was then shown with a younger Baylee on stage with his father, who boasted, “This is the new generation of Backstreet Boys.” Cutting back to the judges, Underwood even noted, “And you look like your dad.”

Luke Bryan then joked, “You must forgive me. I didn’t have your dad’s posters in my room.”

Baylee himself also teased that he always wanted to be the “sixth member of the Backstreet Boys.” He is pursuing his goal by auditioning on American Idol‘s Season 23.

During his audition, Baylee, a Georgia college student, shared, “I’ve got an original song for you guys today. This one is a little bit emotional.”

“This one is about me giving up but not giving up yet. Trust me I wish I could do something different, but if I don’t do music, there’s no way I can really exist.”

Baylee’s performance appeared to win over the three judges. As Underwood shared, “You’re very good. Like, very good. I loved the song and that’s a risk too. When people come in with their own songs.”

Baylee Even Got To Perform A Duet In The Audition Room

“That was great and you went there emotionally. I think you could go very, very far in this competition.”

Baylee’s audition even included a surprise guest. Following his original audition, Bryan even asked if Baylee’s dad would be willing to sing with him. Brian then stepped into the room and performed a duet with his son.

However, there is still the question of what happens now. As noted by The U.S. Sun, Underwood’s prediction turned out to be on the money. Baylee indeed ended up getting his ticket to Hollywood.

According to an insider, “He makes the Top 24. Which is as far as any contestant can get right now until it turns over to the live shows and America votes.”

“Once the live shows begin, it’s out of the judges hands and he’ll have to get enough votes to get through. “However, there’s no doubt in the judges minds that viewers will keep him around, at least for a while.”
